Pay at Starbucks Using Your iPhone



 

Starbucks is a brand that's keen to embrace new technologies. From today you'll be able to pay for your coffee with your iPhone. The coffeehouse has launched a Starbucks app that let's you manage your starbucks card balance and top up from your iPhone. You can pay for your drink using a virtual Starbucks card. Enter your card number into the app and it produces a barcode that you can use to purchase your beverage. The app also includes a store locator and details on its food menu.

  2. Interesting app, looks like a precursor to NFC a lot of the latest android devices have a NFC chipset built into them. The iPhone 5 is expected to have one when it's released this year. Many predict that payment using NFC on mobile devices will take off this year.
